We like to hear your story. In Essen, in Dresden, elsewhere. Your own experiences with immigration, those of your family or friends. A significant event, a friendly encounter, a traumatic experience. Storytelling as self-empowerment.
What do abstract terms like immigration history or migration background mean? For us - the majority of whom also have a wide variety of immigration contexts - it is above all millions of individual fates and unique stories - worldwide.
With the Generation After project, we want to collect these stories and make them visible. We are concerned with every single person, every single memory. We are not pursuing an academic theory or statistical collection. We offer an open platform for the unheard, unseen, unimaginable stories. Storytelling as self-empowerment.
We like to hear your story. In Essen, in Dresden, elsewhere. Your own experiences with emigration and immigration, those of your family or friends. A significant event, a friendly encounter, a traumatic experience.
The contributions can be submitted anonymously or by name, as a short video interview, as an audio recording, text or a series of pictures. All documents will be collected on this site, in a growing archive of memories.
You can call us, come by or write an email to: meltingpot@polymerdmt.com. We will contact you and make an appointment - in person or online.
Our long-term project Generation After will start in 2024.
